About Me

I am a native of Singapore who came to Washington, DC on a Fulbright fellowship to Georgetown for the MA in Security Studies. My current work is on how China’s media and memorials / museums reflect and portray the Japanese military in WWII; smaller case studies in Singapore and elsewhere in Southeast Asia are in the pipeline. I run, I write, and I teach as an adjunct lecturer at two universities in the DC-MD region. My languages include native Mandarin and English; intermediate Indonesian and Japanese; I intend to learn French and hopefully Arabic in the future.
