About Me

Dr Jennifer S. Hunt’s research portfolio examines the interplay between defense, energy and economic issues, with a focus on the US and the Arab Gulf. She has published on energy security policy in the US and Australia, the geopolitics of energy markets, as well as economic and political transitions in the Arab Gulf.

From 2011-2012, Jennifer was a visiting researcher at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman. As part of her research, she also attended the World Economic Forum in Abu Dhabi, and studied Arabic at the Qasid Institute in Jordan.

Dr. Hunt earned a PhD in International Security from the University of Sydney. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Security from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she was captain of the Women’s Sabre Fencing team.

Jennifer holds a private pilot’s license. She currently lectures in the Centre for International Security Studies, Department of Government and International Relations, and Sydney Business School.
