About Me

I research the electoral dynamics of authoritarian states, focusing on Russia and the former Soviet Union. I am particularly interested in how elections can be manipulated without the use of outright fraud as well as patterns of protest and the organizational capacity of the opposition. Currently, I am working on two projects: the first examines the drivers of voter turnout in Russia over the last fifteen years and the other tracks scholarly research on civil society using interviews and other qualitative data.
