About Me

Rebecca Adler-Nissen’s research focuses on International Relations theory (especially international political sociology, stigma, status, norms and the practice turn), diplomacy, sovereignty and European integration (especially the euro, common migration, asylum and border policies, the Danish and British opt-outs, differentiated integration, and the EU’s common foreign policy and the External Action Service) as well as fieldwork, participant observation and anthropological methods in IR.

Rebecca Adler-Nissen is directing the ERC-funded project “DIPLOFACE: Between Confidential Negotiations and Public Display”, she is the research coordinator for International Relations and she is vice project leader of Images in International Security, see www.images.ku.dk

Rebecca Adler-Nissen has been a visiting research fellow at the Centre for International Security Studies (University of Sydney), Centre for International Peace and Security Studies (McGill University/Université de Montréal) and the European University Institute in Florence. She is former Head of Section in the Department of European Policy, at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Previously, Rebecca has been project manager at the Confederation of Danish Industry and research analyst at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS). In 2015, she received the Nils Klim Prize.
