About Me

In my research I focus on three risk-related aspects that are at the core of EU-level regulation: (1) EU regulatory agencies dealing with sector-specific risks, (2) agencies’ use of (scientific) risk assessments as key instruments of risk governance, and (3) agencies’ institutional risk management in terms of seeking to establish, maintain and enhance their legitimacy and secure their reputation for scientific expertise. In particular, I focus on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and its risk assessment activities.
