About Me:

Dr. Moseley directs the Ecosystem Workforce Program, a program housed at University of Oregon and Oregon State University, focused on natural resource governance and rural economic development. She has numerous publications in interdisciplinary journals such as Society and Natural Resources, Forest Policy and Economics, Forest Science, and Frontiers in Ecology and Environment as well as countless briefing and working papers for policy and practitioner audiences. In 2019, she co-authored an article on wildfire governance that was published in Science. She has testified before Congress and the Oregon legislature about topics such as rural green jobs, forest and watershed restoration, rural development, and the working conditions of forest workers. Additionally, she has participated in dozens of briefings and presentations to congressional and presidential administration officials. She has published multiple pieces on wildfire in The Conversation, which have been reprinted in major news outlets including the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune. She is currently the liaison between Council on Research and the Council on Government Relations of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities (APLU) and is a past chair of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forestry Research Advisory Council. She was founding member of the board of the Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition and is a former board member of the Flintridge Foundation and the Applegate Partnership. Specialties: Natural resource and forest policy, public lands, Forest Service policy, community-based forestry, sustainable rural development, western U.S., wildfire policy and governance, climate change policy, socioeconomic dimensions of bioenergy.
