About Me:

I am an Associate Professor of Political Science and Jean Monnet Chair at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Konstanz in 2006. Before joining the faculty at UCSD, I worked at the Max-Planck Institute of Economics, Oxford University, and Princeton University. My research focuses on international cooperation and bargaining in international organizations with a focus on distributional bargaining in the EU and multilateral aid organizations. My current research project focuses on signals of responsiveness in the European Union (forthcoming at Cambridge University Press, 2018). My book on EU enlargement negotiations was published with Cambridge University Press, and my articles have appeared in journals such as American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of European Public Policy, Development Policy Review, and Public Choice. More details are available on my webpage: http://pages.ucsd.edu/~cjschneider/index.htm
