Elizabeth Matto is an Associate Research Professor at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University New Brunswick and directs the Center for Youth Political Participation. She earned her doctorate in American Politics at the George Washinton University and has taught at the George Washington University, Temple University, and Princeton University.

My Research:

Matto is the lead editor of the text Teaching Civic Engagement Across the Disciplines published by the American Political Science Association and edits the text's companion website. She is the author of the book Citizen Now: Engaging in Politics and Democracy published by Manchester University Press.

Teaching Civic Engagement Across the Disciplines evaluates the goals, challenges and rewards of integrating civic education into the curriculum, highlighting best practices across disciplines and campuses. Editors Elizabeth C. Matto, Alison Rios Millett McCartney, Elizabeth A. Bennion and Dick Simpson have gathered a diverse group of 38 contributors who approach civic engagement education from many perspectives to deliver a text that will be a resource for any educator.
