TV Appearances:

(2024) NBC and Telemundo

Interviewed for policy analysis on Venezuelan arrivals to Chicago. Documentary was just nominated for an Emmy. Here is the description of this important film: "In this documentary from NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago, reporters Sandra Torres and Ivon Espitia and Senior Digital Producer DS Shin followed the lives of two families and several individuals for six months to tell their stories of leaving Venezuela to seek asylum in the United States to provide a better life for their families."

(2024) MSNBC

Ali Velshi developed a new segment on his news show called "Small Acts of Courage"--he featured a project I have been running for about two years. I train students to research country conditions for specific countries designated by the Resurrection Project; we then work/worked on affidavits (country conditions reports) for refugee petitions (and parole). The Resurrection Project has disseminated the reports to non-profit legal centers in the Chicago area. Velshi's feature aided our expansion to other groups.

(2014) WTTW (PBS)

Interviewed on Phil Ponce's PBS show (Chicago) regarding Pres. Obama's attempt to aid the parents of US citizen children and/or DACA recipients through an executive order (DAPA).

Radio Appearances:

(2023) WBEZ (NPR)

Interviewed regarding sanctuary locality ordinances and to clear up misinformation about sanctuary laws. 4 minute spot that was used as part of a feature on civics.

(2017) WBEZ (NPR)

Here is the byline: "Chicago could lose tens of millions of dollars if Mayor Rahm Emanuel stands by his promise to protect undocumented immigrants by refusing to comply with federal immigration law. Morning Shift talks to DePaul University political science professor Kathleen Arnold about what Monday’s announcement from Attorney General Sessions could mean for Chicago"
