I am a Ph.D. candidate and Dornsife Doctoral fellow at the University of Southern California. My research interests include peace and conflict studies, economic development, statistical programming, and data visualization. My dissertation focuses on actor behavior in conflict zones. I use computational tools to understand when governments employ welfare spending as a strategic tool to combat insecurity. My research yields a novel subnational measure of territorial control in asymmetric intrastate wars using event data and machine learning methods.
