About Me:

I am an Assistant Professor at Virginia Military Institute in the Department of International Studies and Political Science. My research focuses on conflict processes, decisions taken by forced migrants, and government repression of marginalized societal actors. Ongoing research projects investigate the determinants of refugee return migration as well as decisions to flee or stay during armed conflict. My research is published or forthcoming in Research and PoliticsJournal of Conflict ResolutionJournal of Peace ResearchConflict Management and Peace Science, and Public Choice. I received my Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Arizona and my B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
